Like me, you are looking for a good mate, one who likes you for who you are, is not afraid to let you know how they feel, communicates well, lives a balanced life (well, mostly!), shares some of your interests yet has interests of their own, is passionate, caring and generous with their time and support, is mature in behavior when needed and is able to shake it all loose when the feeling hits...! Sound impossible? I don't... I like people who are their own person, yet respect others for their differences and similarities. Never married, and no children, but the offers were there... I just wasn't ready. I am ready now to be in a solid relationship, commit to the right person and look forward to meeting anyone interested in me.
I like nature, many forms of music (just went to ACL festival in Austin and Hardly Strictly Bluegrass in San Francisco), tennis, board games, dogs, mellow cats, reading good books and the Sunday paper (from cities other than here), hiking, camping, The WEST, small town life, Big City culture, NPR, PBS and the BBC, Monday Night Football, Christmas eve at midnight, old sweaters, good food, cold beer, driving around in the country, smelling the prairie after a good rain, smelling creosote bushes in the desert after the monsoons, standing at the ocean in awe, constellations at the top of the Rockies on a cold, clear night, Calvin and Hobbes and my Newfoundland.

My family loves me, even if they have never quite totally "got" me, and my friends say I am generous and kind. I have a hearty laugh and am not afraid to be in the moment if something strikes me as funny! I love finding out what makes people who the are, and enjoy being with people of similar nature, who are not afraid to be who they are and to be ALIVE!
